IFIGHT Gi (Kimono) Review

Review of IFIGHT Strong/Simple Gi White
아이파이트 주짓수 도복-심플

Introduction
I'll be honest here, I was skeptical to buy a gi (kimono) from an overseas company that simply does not have the brand power yet, but the measurements matched exactly the size I was searching for in the gi pants and top. Which I have noticed, that it difficult to find a full gi that fits a female body so completely. Either the top is too tight, or the pants and/or sleeves too long even after the shrink in the wash! (Although this gi had very very minimal shrinkage, if any noticeable at all.

The company's excellent customer service through Instagram chat was what gave me the push to go ahead spend the money, and try out this gi. I am glad I did. I was not disappointed when it arrived.

Shipping and other first impressions
First of all, it took less than a week to ship from South Korea. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised to see a bag was included with this gi. The bag is silky smooth, and thicker than most tiny sports bags. The draw string shoulder straps are thick and comfortable.

The second thing I noticed was the softness of this gi. It was softer than all of my other gis (Atama, Shogun, 93 brand, Century, and Vulkan). I tried it on over my clothes to see if it fit well and it did so I put it in the wash before I took it to train.

The first time I wore this gi to class and in rolling I was so happy that the draw string at the waist stayed tied and the gi pants stayed up around my waist. I was not pulling up my pants after each roll. BUT the best part was when I put the pants on over top of my shorts....the butter soft fabric felt amazing on my legs! I made everyone pet my gi! They all agreed at how awesomely soft it was.

Weave, fit, and collar

This gi top is a 550 gsm pearl weave gi top, (450 gsm for the simple model) which makes it nice and smooth. It is not considered a light weight gi, but it is still very light. My movements were not hindered at all. The collar was thick fill, but did not hurt my neck when I got caught in a triangle. I will have to update this review in six months to give an honest opinion on it's durability. The gi trousers are 12 oz (360 gsm) twill (10 oz for the simple). They feel thick and durable, but are amazingly soft. They did not stick to my skin when I got pretty sweaty at the end of an hour of rolling.

I purchased an A2. The fit is great for my body type. I am 5'7" and I fluctuate from 160 to 180 pounds. I am top heavy (too big boobs). The gi top fits comfortable around my chest and closes properly with the belt even when I am in my heaviest weight bracket. The pants are not too short, and not too long. They hit right at my ankle. If you are a female that it top and bottom heavy, then I truly recommend this gi.

The sizing is true to the listed measurements! I purchased the simple model because I prefer the lightweight kimonos when training.

Summary
The IFIGHT simple gi runs about $130.00 USD, which is a great change to see a 550 gsm pearl weave gi being sold an a decently lower price than most other 450 gsm gis on the market right now. This gi is very high quality, and extremely comfortable for both competition and daily training! Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in purchasing from IFIGHT. I can contact them and possible help you get an even better price!
